Introduction

1These Applications, filed under section 34 of the Ontario Human Rights Code, R.S.O. 1990, c. H.19, as amended (the “Code”), allege discrimination with respect to the provision of services on the basis of sex, family status and the receipt of public assistance.

2On September 12, 2012, the Tribunal issued a Case Assessment Direction determining that the most appropriate procedure, given the issues raised in the Applications, would be to hold a Summary Hearing by conference call. The issue in a Summary Hearing is whether an application or applications should be dismissed in whole or in part on the basis that there is no reasonable prospect they will succeed.

3The Summary Hearing was scheduled for 9:30 a.m., on February, 19, 2013. The respondent appeared on time. The applicant failed to appear by 10:00 a.m.

4I have no information before me to indicate why the applicant has failed to appear. I note that the applicant was served with the notice of Summary Hearing at the same address as appears on his Application. I am satisfied that he has been duly served notice of his hearing.

5The Application is dismissed as abandoned on the basis that the applicant has failed to appear for the hearing of his Applications.
