Decision
1The applicant filed an Application under s. 34 of the Human Rights Code, R.S.O. 1990, c. H19, as amended, on April 1, 2011, alleging discrimination in her employment with the respondents. On May 24, 2011, the Tribunal issued a Notice of Intent to Dismiss the Application. The Notice stated that the narrative contained in the Application “fails to identify any specific acts of discrimination within the meaning of the Code allegedly committed by the organizational respondents.” [Translation] The applicant was invited to make written submissions on why her Application should not be dismissed.
2On June 22, 2011, the applicant provided clarification of the allegations contained in the narrative portion of her Application. She alleges that she had made known her need for accommodation to an individual at TAL Group and that she received notification through TAL Group that Shoppers Drug Mart had denied her request.
3In this case, while the original narrative provided had not indicated what allegations she made against the respondents, the further particulars provided on June 22, 2011, indicate what acts of discrimination she alleges were committed by the respondents.
4In these circumstances, the Tribunal will continue to deal with the Application.
5This is not a final decision regarding the Tribunal’s jurisdiction in respect of this matter.
6I am not seized of this matter.
