INTERIM DECISION
Adjudicator: Brian Cook Date: June 4, 2009 Citation: 2009 HRTO 759 Indexed as: Christiansen v. Ontario (Natural Resources)
1The applicant filed an Application with the Tribunal on April 28, 2009 pursuant to s. 34 of the Human Rights Code, R.S.O. 1990, c. H.19, as amended (the “Code”). The applicant alleges discrimination in employment on the grounds of disability and reprisal.
2The applicant asks that the Application be expedited pursuant to Rule 21 of the Tribunal’s Rules. In the Application the applicant indicates that she is willing to engage in mediation.
3In the Response to the Request to Expedite Proceedings the respondents also indicate a willingness to mediate.
4In light of the above, the Tribunal will schedule a mediation date on an expedited basis. The Registrar’s office will contact the parties to schedule the mediation.
5The Tribunal will determine the Request to Expedite Proceedings following the mediation if it does not result in a settlement. All time requirements under the Rules remain in effect, including the requirement for the respondent to deliver and file the Response to Application by June 12, 2009.
6Counsel for the respondents advises that the corporate respondents are correctly named as The Crown in Right of Ontario as represented by the Ministry of Natural Resources and The Crown in Right of Ontario as represented by the Ministry of Government Services. The style of cause has been amended to reflect this information.
7I am not seized of this matter.
Dated at Toronto, this 4th day of June, 2009.
