Introduction
1This Interim Decision addresses the parties’ joint request to use the applicant’s initials in all public documents or decisions as sub-section 110(1) of the Youth Criminal Justice Act provides as follows:
Subject to this section, no person shall publish the name of a young person, or any other information related to a young person, if it would identify the young person as a young person dealt with under this Act.
2In light of sub-section 110(1) of the Youth Criminal Justice Act and the principles and values underlying that legislation, I grant the parties’ request.
ORDER
3For these reasons, the Tribunal makes the following Order:
a. that the applicant’s name shall be substituted with initials in any communication by or with the Tribunal about this case;
b. that no identifying information shall be provided by the Tribunal about the applicant to anyone other than the parties, their counsel or members of the Tribunal and its staff.
