ORDER
1The Applicant filed a claim with the CICB seeking compensation pursuant to the Compensation for Victims of Crime Act, RSO 1990, c. C 24.
2The Applicant was served by mail with a notice of hearing at his last known address. As such, we are satisfied that the Applicant has been served with a notice of hearing.
3The hearing was scheduled for 15:00 on March 20, 2017.
4The Applicant's counsel [Name] was present. She stated that she has been unable to contact the Applicant. The Applicant failed to appear by 15:30.
5The CICB pursuant to section 7(1) of the Statutory Powers Procedure Act, RSO 1990, c. S-22, as amended, and CICB Rule 3.4, is entitled to proceed in the absence of the Applicant without any further notice.
6Without deciding the merits of the Application the CICB hereby dismisses this Application as abandoned on the basis that the Applicant has failed to appear.
