ORDER
1The Applicant filed a claim with the CICB seeking compensation pursuant to the Compensation for Victims of Crime Act, RSO 1990, c.C24.
2The Applicant was served by mail with a notice of hearing at his last known address. As such, we are satisfied that the Applicant has been served with a notice of hearing.
3The hearing was scheduled for 13:30 on December 12, 2017.
4Detective [name]appeared at the hearing and was ready to testify as a witness. The Applicant failed to appear by 14:00.
5The CICB, pursuant to section 7(1) of the Statutory Powers Procedure Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. S-22, as amended, and the CICB's Rules of Procedure, is entitled to proceed in the absence of the Applicant without any further notice.
6Without deciding the merits of the Application the CICB hereby dismisses this application as abandoned on the basis that the Applicant has failed to appear.
