ORDER
1The Applicant filed a claim with the CICB seeking compensation pursuant to the Compensation for Victims of Crime Act, RSO 1990, c.C24.
2On October 16, 2017, the Applicant was served by mail with a notice of hearing at his last known address. As such, we are satisfied that the Applicant has been served with a notice of hearing.
3The hearing was scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2017.
4The Police Witness, [Name], of the [Name] Police Service appeared to testify at this hearing. The Applicant failed to appear by 11:20 a.m. and a call was placed to his telephone and the voicemail was full.
5The CICB, pursuant to section 7(1) of the Statutory Powers Procedure Act, RSO 1990, c. S-22, as amended, and the CICB's Rules of Procedure, is entitled to proceed in the absence of the Applicant without any further notice.
6Without deciding the merits of the Application the CICB hereby dismisses this application as abandoned on the basis that the Applicant has failed to appear.
