ORDER
1The Applicant filed a claim with the CICB seeking compensation pursuant to the Compensation for Victims of Crime Act, RSO 1990, c.C24. The Applicant was served by mail with a notice of hearing at his last known address. As such, we are satisfied that the applicant has been served with a notice of hearing.
2The hearing was scheduled for 11:00 am. on May 9, 2017.
3For this hearing, the [Police Witness] appeared via teleconference. The Applicant failed to appear by 11:15 am.
4The CICB, pursuant to section 7(1) of the Statutory Powers Procedure Act, RSO 1990, c. S-22, as amended, and CICB Rule 3.4, is entitled to proceed in the absence of the Applicant without any further notice.
5Without deciding the merits of the Application the CICB hereby dismisses this Application as abandoned on the basis that the Applicant has failed to appear.
