ORDER
1The Applicant filed a claim with the CICB seeking compensation pursuant to the Compensation for Victims of Crime Act, RSO 1990, c.C24.
2The Applicant was served by mail with a notice of hearing at his last known address. As such, the CICB is satisfied that the Applicant has been served with a notice of hearing. The hearing was scheduled for 1:30 pm on April 26, 2017.
3On April 25, 2017, the authorized party contacted CICB staff to advise that the Applicant has decided not to move forward with this claim and would not be attending the hearing.
4The CICB, pursuant to section 7(1) of the Statutory Powers Procedure Act, RSO 1990, c. S-22, as amended, and CICB Rule 3.4, is entitled to proceed in the absence of the Applicant without any further notice.
5Without deciding the merits of the Application, the CICB hereby dismisses this Application as withdrawn.
