Allegations
- A hearing into a Notice of Proposal (“NOP”) number 16775, dated November 2, 2008, to revoke liquor license number 806382 issued to Daniel Mehari Neguse, (the “Licensee”), operating as HABESHA LOUNGE, 875B Bloor Street West, 2nd Floor, Toronto, Ontario, M6G 1M4, on the basis that the licence holder would be disentitled to a licence under section 6 of the Liquor Licence Act (LLA), was held on February 13, 2009, in the City of Toronto.
Decision and Order
The Board was advised by Mr. Kulis that the Licensee’s outstanding Retail Sales Tax debt had been remitted in full to the Minister of Revenue and that all returns had been filed by it. As a result, the Licensee’s Retail Sales Tax account was up-to-date as of the date of the hearing. Ms Jennifer Brake, present as a representative of the Minister of Revenue, confirmed this information. Mr. Kulis thus requested that the NOP be withdrawn, there being no other allegations in it. Mr. Dagago concurred with this request.
In the circumstances, the Board ACCEPTS the Registrar’s request that the Notice of Proposal number 16775 to revoke liquor license number 806382 issued to Daniel Mehari Neguse, operating as HABESHA LOUNGE, 875B Bloor Street West, 2nd Floor, Toronto, Ontario, M6G 1M4, is WITHDRAWN.
