The Notice of Proposal
1The Registrar of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario issued Notice of Proposal number 15323 dated June 4, 2007 to review an application for a liquor licence from Meco’s Sports Bar & Eatery Inc., (the “Applicant”) operating or intending to operate as Meco’s Sports Bar & Eatery, formerly known as Meco’s Pizza Parlour Restaurant, 248A Wellington Street, Welland, Ontario, L3B 1B5, (the “Premises”), establishment number 22861, for the indoor area of the premises with a capacity of 38 persons. The Proposal alleges violations of subsections 6(2)(d) and (e) of the Liquor Licence Act (LLA). A hearing of the Application was held on September 5, 2007 in the City of Welland.
Preliminary Matters
2This matter was resolved when both parties agreed to conditions being placed on the licence.
Order
3Subject to the special conditions being added to the licence as set out below, and the standard conditions being applicable, the Board APPROVES the Application for liquor licence made by Meco’s Sports Bar & Eatery Inc., operating as Meco’s Sports Bar & Eatery, formerly known as Meco’s Pizza Parlour Restaurant, 248A Wellington Street, Welland, Ontario, L3B 1B5, for the indoor area of the premises with a capacity of 38 persons.
4The following special conditions shall be attached to the licence on consent of the parties:
a) Jason Popovich is to be excluded from the licensed premises at all times; and
b) Jason Popovich is not to be an officer, director or shareholder of the corporate applicant/licensee.
